This month, we’re hopping into Easter with a sweet treat tutorial: crafting adorable marzipan bunnies out of Odense Marzipan. All you need is one box of Odense Marzipan and some food coloring.
Before starting, remember these helpful tips:
-
- Color marzipan with food coloring. Remember. A little goes a long way.
- Wrap unused portions in plastic wrap for future projects.
- You can make one big bunny or many little bunnies from just one box of marzipan.
- Find us in your supermarket’s baking aisle, or use our Store Finder.
1. Form your marzipan bunny body into an egg-ish shape.
2. It should stand on its own and be sturdy enough to hold up the head.
3. Roll two small pieces of marzipan for the feet.
4. Place the feet at the bottom of the body. Using a knife, make two marks on each foot to make the toes.
5. Make two arms by rolling two small pieces of marzipan into tapered logs and secure them to the body.
6. Here’s what you should have so far.
7. Next, form the head and ears. Make a sphere with enough marzipan to pull the two ears from.
8. Pull a thick tab of marzipan from the sphere. With scissors, cut down the middle to form ears.
9. Pull and shape the ears to your liking.
10. Place the head onto the body.
11. Dye a little bit of the marzipan black with food coloring. Roll two small eyes and place on the head.
12. Dye enough marzipan light pink for the bunny’s nose and tail. Place a very small bit for the nose.
13. Roll the tail into a sphere and place on the bunny’s behind.
14. Ta-da!
